Uniqueness of WordPress.com and Blogspot.com Users Characteristic
It is about users characteristic and not about technical side. Yes, I write my opinion according users characteristic of two biggest free blog providers in the world, WordPress.com and Blogspot.com. My opinion is base on my blogging past experience in WordPress.com and Blogspot.com world. Of course, it is only for Indonesian users. For others country, I do not have experience yet so can not tell much. I write this article because I found that there is interesting unique characteristic for each WordPress.com and blogspot.com users in general way. Yeah, the uniqueness is always interesting.

The Difference
In my opinion, WordPress.com blogger is less aware of SEO technique than Blogspot.com users. It is because WordPress.com do not allow monetize the blog which make less point to care about SEO. The important point is only writing and commenting. Therefore, WordPress.com users are most as forum member which talk each others trough blog. This situation also makes the WordPress.com users do not care about link. They link what they like without any hesitation. I even found that there are some post contain very lot of link (almost 100 and more) in it.
That different for Blogspot.com users. Blogspot.com users really care about SEO technique. It is because Blogspot.com allows blog monetizing which make SEO become one of many important parts in blog monetizing. There are many SEO technique do in blogspot.com blog. It is include link to others of course. Yes, blogspot.com users really care about link to others. Blogspot.com users really tend to exchange link as many as they can to build strong link development instead link others blog for free. They tend to count every link benefit so if there are no benefits for their blog — they tend to not link it even the content may really great.
I, my self, do over than 100 link exchanges in my blogspot.com blog and it make my Blogspot.com blog PR increase to 3 in two months. But, don’t ask about quality traffic, it not as good as my WordPress.com blog. Yes, my WordPress.com blog have more quality traffic. Quality traffic means that the readers come to blog because really want to read the blog and have discussion about the writing. And, that’s not happen in my Blogspot.com blog. It seems that the traffic only come because I already come to their blog or lure me to visit their blog.
Conclusion
So, I conclude that free blog providers features which make the blogger characteristic. Yeah, you can always choose the most suitable free blog provider features for your needs. If you only want share your writing with others and do not want to care the SEO and others blog technique for monetize, you can use WordPress.com. WordPress.com is more like a big forum than blog in my opinion. And, you should choose Blogspot.com if you want to monetize your blog. It is because Blogspot.com allows blog monetizing, allows JavaScript, and allows template customizing. You need all of those three for great earning in blog monetizing.
That’s all update this time, wait for next update!

i host 5 of my blogs on Blogspot and it is really good for beginners. but if you want something with more features, nothing beats wordpress:.-
You might mean wordpress.org.
I agree that WP has more features and plugins but Blogger is easier to use.
I don’t think so. I had experienced both, and I find wordpress far easier to use.
Hey good post.
I think Blogger is the best…
there are many blogers said that.
The best way to install its own blog on the server, but these providers can be very useful for those that do not hold your own server.
yeah, self hosted always be the best.
Nice post. I guess WP is far better than Blogpost. You can install so many Plugins and make it user friendly and attractive for visitors. The only positive point in blogger is about earning money but then also I would prefer WordPress.
Thanks for your opinion.
Blogger is by far and away the best FREE platform. WordPress.com is decent but IMO, if you’re going to use WordPress at all, you might as well invest in WordPress self host.
yeah, me as example, i had been in blogger but then move to wordpress self hosted.
I agree, i wonder why blogspot user commonly have huge traffics..but thats why i choose WP, which make good notice at content
you must mean self-hosted wordpress.
In term of free platform, bloggers is far way better than wordpress in monetizing. But in term of self host, wordpress will be the one.
The only thing I “hate” on blogger is when it came to comment section.
yeah, bloggers really great for monetizing.
Btw, i also hate the comment section of blogger.
In my opinion blogger is best compared to worpress.com but wordpress.org is beats away the competition…
yeah, you may be right.
I think, free blog do not looks professional, and blogger is also not good as WordPress.
Yeah, the self hosted blog is surely the best in professional term.
[...] 5.) WordPress.Com VS Blogspot.Com: Users Characteristic [...]
I think WordPress is better than Blogger..
and what is the reason?
I prefer blogger.com because it is the first blogging flatform I use and I’ve been learning many tips on blogging, marketing from this blog. But for my next project, I will use wordpress. In fact I still wondering which is better Joomla or WordPress because I love both these CMS.
I tell about wordpress. com here, not wordpress.org. You should different both of it.
Hi thanks for sharing your thoughts, I am personally blogspot user, so like to read your article, well I do not think that wordpress users are less conscious about SEO, I do not understand that you say wordpress do not allow to monetize blog.
I mean the wordpress.com (which is free blog provider) do not allow to monetize. You, surely can monetize wordpress.org (self hosted) freely.
Yeah, I agree. In terms of monetization having a free blog at blogspot is better than wordpress. But of course, the best is to have a blog at wordpress.org. It would be costly but users would have a lot of freedom in using plug ins and personalizing themes.
Yeah, the wordpress.org is still the best.
