I just do not want to have headache after upgrading.
Hi Dana, I’ve seen you around before and now I’m here to visit your nice blog
I just up grade my blog to 2.9.1 and its OK. As I’m newbie to WP, I’m not worry to get headache, lol! Lucky me everything is OK with my new blog.
Thanks for the article.
Great to hear that everything is okay.
Btw, welcome to my blog.
hmmm… you teach us a good lesson bro! patience is the best policy
Yeah, patience is the best option sometimes.
Sometimes, WP comes up with upgrades within just a week after a previous release. So, we need to decide which upgrades we need to install and which to neglect.
You are right. We can choose to no upgrade or just to delay the upgrade for better result.
I upgraded to 2.9 last December and just a couple of weeks came 2.9.1. Grrr! I didn’t noticed the bugs you mentioned but I noticed that in my dashboard, those wordpress rss are not showing so I think I should upgrade to 2.9.1 soon.
This make me more firm to wait at least for next version each time wordpress release new version.
This is an handy tip, sometimes I did admit I upgraded too early resulting in plugin deactivation. So, I always wait for stable version and read reviews
Yup, too early upgrading can kill your blog.
Considering the massive feature and bug update, 2.9 was pretty stable with only a few minor problems. Waiting for 2.9.1 wasn’t a bad idea but in this case, I don’t think it would’ve hurt you at all if you upgraded to 2.9 a few weeks earlier.
But i think it is better to wait. Some of the plugins may do not work with 2.9 back then.
Haste makes waste. I’d rather wait for some feedback before implementing any change. I’m glad we go parallel on this.
Yeah, it is better to wait sometimes.
I always just hit automatically upgrade when a new version came out..
I admit I trust them so much
