Bing as Blog Tool
One of the most important tools for blogger is search engine. It is really very important for each of blogger. There are so many efforts that Bloggers do to get into first page in Search Engine Result Page (SERP) for targeted keywords. And luckily, this most important thing could be optimized by free. Right now, the biggest search engine in internet world is still Google, then followed by Bing (Microsoft) search engine in second place, and in third place is Yahoo search engine. Blogger usually only use these three search engine for their blog traffic source.
My assumption above may be wrong but that is what I do for my blog regarding to search engine at least. Of course I already use these entire three search engine as tolls for this Online Knowledge blog but I will only share what I do in Bing (Microsoft) search engine in this article. There are three things that I already do in Bing (Microsoft) search engine for this blog, which are:
Submit Blog URL into Bing
It is first step that I do for faster blog indexing in Bing (Microsoft) search engine. I go to Bing site submit page and submit my blog URL in submit form. It is more likely to introduce this Blog with Bing (Microsoft) search engine, so Bing (Microsoft) search engine can include this blog in index list. It is really easy. I only need to fill my URL blog and then click “Submit URL” button.
Check blog indexed page in Bing
This step is did to check if Bing (Microsoft) already indexes this blog page, and also did to check how many pages are already indexed in Bing (Microsoft) search engine. It is important to check because Indexed pages is what search engine will view in search result. Use command below in Bing search engine form for index checking:
site:letupdate.com
Check blog backlinks in Bing
This step is did to check how many baclinks to this blog that are detected by Bing (Microsoft) search engine. Baclink is used by search engine for blog rank calculation. Our blog rank will higher if there are many quality backlink to our blog detected by search engine. Use command below for backlink checking:
letupdate.com -site: letupdate.com
Conclusions
Bing is big search engine that blogger must optimizing for better traffic. I am only using three Bing (Microsoft) search engine feature that I already mention before. But of course it may change soon. I may use other tolls that provided by Bing for better SERP in future. As example, I may submit this online knowledge blog to Bing webmaster tool in future. But for now, I think it is not worthy yet to submit this blog in Bing webmasters tools.

P.S: Of course, you must change letupdate.com with your own URL.

How do you feel the quality of the results are compared to Google? I’ve heard that Bing was a little Ad heavy, do you agree?
I am satisfied for result of the three thing that i mention in my article. I also get some traffic from bing but I can not tell you about search result because i rarely use bing for searching.

Sure, you should do this.
I noticed that if you are using XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 3.1.7 to generate your sitemaps that it automatically pings Bing to notify them of new blog posts. I would submit manually too as Dana suggests.
I am not seeing a ton of traffic yet from search engines in general, but what I have seen includes some results from Bing. With the recent announcement by Microsoft to index Twitter and Facebook I expect this number to increase.
Yeah, you right. XML sitemap generator usually include bing in automatic facility. But, i still suggest blogger submit manually at least once, just to make sure.
I submit my blog to all 4 major search engine. (Google,Bing,Yahoo and Baidu). Don’t forget Baidu (China search engine).
I think Baidu is google it self. Btw, i will check it.
I have not been taking Bing seriously so I have not been anything to optimize my blog with them yet. After reading your post , I will take these easy steps as I am sure it will help my blog. BTW, I will be featuring this post in the Sunday’s Best weekly wrap up series.

Lately, Im noticing Bing as a top traffic referrer which is excellent and I hope to see Bing grow even more over time.
For me, it is only give me few traffic, but yeah, i think bing will become better in future.
I dont get much traffic from Bing… I feel just to Bang the Bing…. I guess I will get some traffic from it later when Bing becomes more popular..
Yeah, it is for future benefit that we use bing in my opinion.

Got on your website directly from Google Search. In terms of size and popularity? Google is the #1 site in the entire world. There is no site, search engine or not, that has a bigger audience. Bing has made a good start but it will take time to surpass Google’s rank. The recent joint venture by bing and yahoo might help bing to gain some position on world wide web.
