Comments are one of important part of blog beside blog content itself. It is because blog interaction trough comment is the main different with regular site. Therefore, we, as bloger, must fully maintain our blog comment to the best. So, the readers have enjoyable comment experience in our blog. I admit that the default how WordPress maintain the comment is already great. The WordPress lay out is really comment friendly and it is also really fast. And there is also “reply” button on it which allows admin and readers to response the comment directly. The “reply” button really helps to make a good live discussion. It is as same as forums discussion experience in my opinion.
But, it is not enough for best comment forms that blog needs. The comments still are not track able because there is no notification to commentators for newest comment or comment response. This function really needs to maintain the good live discussion in blog comment form. It is because there is no discussion if the commentator do not know that their comment already have response from blog admin or another readers. It is nearly impossible that the commentators always come to our blog to check if there is a comment response because their life is not only our blog.
Therefore it needs system notification that notifies the commentators for newest comment and comment response. I try to search in internet if there is WordPress plugin to fulfill comment notification needs. And Eureka, I find it! The plugin is “Subscribe to Comments” WordPress plugin. I install it immediately of course.
Here my way to install it:
- Go to WordPress siteadmin
- Click “Plugin” tab
- Click “Add New” button
- Insert “Subscribe to Comments” in search box
- Click “Search Plugin” button
- Click “install” button
- Click “Install Now” button
- Click “Activate Plugin” button
The “Subscribe to comments” WordPress plugin has “subscribe without commenting” form but it need some template editing. That’s why I choose to install “Subscribe to Comments Now!” plugin so I no need to edit the template anymore.
Here my way to install it:

- Click “Add New” button
- Insert “Subscribe to Comments Now!” in search box
- Click “Search Plugin” button
- Click “install” button
- Click “Install Now” button
- Click “Activate Plugin” button
Ok, the comments notification system already successfully installed. Now, this blog commentator will be notify trough email for newest comment and comment response if they subscribe to it. I hope that the readers of this blog have more enjoyable comment experience from now.

I am using ‘Thank me later’ plugin and ‘Comment Notifier’. The combination of these two produces really great experience. When you comment you’ll receive ‘Thank you’ mail after few days so as to remind you and ‘comment notifier’ will send you an email if your comment is responded by anybody.
Yeah, I heard many bloggers use both of those plugin.

I did not want to use third party comment form because wordpress default comment form already enough to fulfill my needs. I surely want to use commentluv but still too busy in my work to install it. I may install it next week.
