As you may already knew, I encouraged bloggers to have CommentLuv installed in their blog. It is because I believe that Comment Luv able to create better interaction around the blogosphere. At first, I did not believe it. That’s why I did not use CommentLuv in this blogging tips blog back then. However, finally, I aware that CommentLuv can be a great tool to improve interaction at WordPress default commenting form. It is because the installed CommentLuv plugin allows commentators to market their newest blog post. This feature is great since it help the commentators (to market the latest blog post) as well as the bloggers (to find the good blog post).
However, sometimes, we need to tweak the CommentLuv so we can get more from it. In this blog post, I will share how I tweak the CommentLuv to get more benefit from it. I tweak the CommentLuv in two ways which are:
Faster CommentLuv Feed Recognized
This tweaking is needed to allow CommentLuv be informed of each latest published blog post fast. You may face CommentLuv feed recognized issue which make your latest blog post is not showed in CommentLuv link. This issue makes only the old blog post is showed. If face this situation, we need to subscribe our blog feed into CommentLuv web site. We can directly go to CommmentLuv website, create an account, and then register the blog feed. However it will be troublesome to do it when we in comment form. There is a faster way to register our blog feed at this situation.
At commenting form, click the CommentLuv arrow which will show the available list as below:
Then, click “here” link to create and account in comment luv and then register our blog so the cache time will be reduced (real-time). It surely fix the CommentLuv feed recognized issue.
Pointing The Link Directly To Blog
This tweaking is needed if you use CommentLuv as commenting link building strategy. It is well-known that a blog with CommentLuv and dofollow tag combination is perfect as comenting link building place. However, if you use FeedBurner to service your blog feed, the link may pointing to FeedBurner website instead to your blog (the link is pointed to feedproxy.google.com/bla…bla..bla instead yor blog URL). It means that the link juice will not flow to your blog but to FeedBurner itself. It can be said that the FeedBurner steal the link juice. Therefore, if we want to use CommentLuv as commenting link building strategy, we need to tweak it.
This problem is because of FeedBurner so we need to do the tweaking at it. Login to your FeedBurner account and switch off item click tracking. You can find this option at your blog feed >> Analyze tab >> Configure Stats. You only need to unchecked the “Item link clicks” to switch off it. For more detail, you can look at below picture:
Final Words
CommentLuv is a great WordPress plugin that can improve WordPress default commenting form. In my opinion, CommentLuv can create the better interaction around blogosphere. However, sometimes, need to do simple tweak so we can get more benefit from it. In this blog post, I shared two simple tips to get more from CommentLuv. These two simple tips of CommentLuv are the fast feed recognized and right link pointing. I hope these two tips is useful to encourage of CommenLuv usage which mean the better interaction at blogosphere.

It happened because I tried to analyze the clicks on feed links. When setting up feedburner account, I felt its useful feature feedburner is providing. Now I know the bad effects. No I won’t credit feedproxy for all the backlinks I’m working for!

Trying to figure out a problem on my blog. I have the commentluv plugin activated, but it doesn’t show up on my posts anywhere. I have the comment form and comment smilies are there. It’s also do-follow. But the commentluv is missing. I’ve gone through all the commentluv settings. It says it’s enabled, and the plugin is activated. But it’s not there! I came across your post while researching it… any ideas?
I suggest to use default wordpress theme first to test the CommentLuv. If work, it means that your wordpress theme has problem.

I wasn’t aware that CommentLuv links could have pointed to Feedburner instead of our blogs. Actually I never faced this kind of problem. The only problem I have faced till date is that my URL was banned once. I had to unban it from the link provided by them.
Hi Sourav, if move the mouse to your commenluv link in this comment, you will find that your blog link is point to feedproxy.google.com/bla…bla..bla. It mean that your CommentLuv link is direct to feedburner. You should fix it mate.
