This online knowledge blog use WordPress as blog engine. So, this blog already have default RSS feed page. Therefore, it needs some strong benefit for me to use third party RSS feed subscription like FeedBurner. I already read many suggestions about how we should manage our Blog RSS feed. I already know that there are many blogers suggest using FeedBurner as our RSS feed management. They say that blog RSS feed will be easier to manage if use FeedBurner. That many suggestion to use FeedBurner, surely catch my interest. I think that there must be some good things in FeedBurner so many bloggers suggest to use it as blog RSS feed management tool.

My Experience with FeedBurner

That’s why I give a try for FeedBurner. And guess what? I find that FeedBurner surely live his name. FeedBurner burn this blog RSS feed perfectly and as additional, there are a lot of useful tools that can use to improve our blog. Yeah, I already found the strong benefit from FeedBurner that I can use to improve my blog.

The benefits of FeedBurner base on my experience:

1. FeedBurner is one of Google service. Therefore, we can use Google adsense to monetize our blog RSS feed easier if compare that we use another third party RSS feed service.
2. Provide email subscription for free. It is really helpful for beginner that not yet earns anything from blog. FeedBurner Email subscription make us no need to pay aweber service if want to have an email subscription service for our blog anymore.
3. There are many way to optimize the RSS feed by use  feedflare feature of FeedBurner. We can customize it base on our needs. As example, we can make that our post comments will display in RSS feed reader which is really useful to encourage RSS feed reader to comment in our blog. We also can show the social bookmarking link in our blog so the readers can directly share our post in their social network directly trough RSS feed.
4. FeedBurner statistic facility has great accuracy which is a useful tool to measure how success our blog in term of RSS feed subscriber. As you may already aware, increasing of RSS feed subscriber surely show that our blog already on right track to become success blog.

Use “FD FeedBurner Plugin” WordPress Plugin

Therefore, I permanently do automatic redirect this Blog RSS feed to FeedBurner by using “FD FeedBurner Plugin” WordPress plugin. Using “FD FeedBurner Plugin” WordPress plugin make it easy to redirect the RSS feed without disturb old feed subscriber. All of old feed subscriber will automatically redirect to FeedBurner if use this “FD FeedBurner Plugin” WordPress plugin. It is quite easy to install it. We only need do search in plugin search form of our dashboard, than follow installing instruction and we will directly have RSS feed redirect tool. After install it, we just need to input our FeedBurner RSS feed URL. You can look “FD FeedBurner Plugin” WordPress plugin in below:

You can see that I input “http://feeds.feedburner.com/letupdatedotcom” which is FeedBurner feed URL for this blog. I also choose to only redirect blog post. I choose to not redirect comment, category, tag, and search result feed. And what I like of this “FD FeedBurner Plugin” WordPress plugin is that the readers can still subscribe to http://letupdate.com/feed which is a default RSS feed page for this blog. All of RSS subscriber that subscribe to this blog default RSS feed will automatically redirect to this blog FeedBurner feed page. Yeah, you only need to use this online knowledge blog default RSS feed for RSS feed subscription.

Conclusions

As WordPress blogger, we sometime need to use third party RSS feed service instead only using default WordPress RSS feed burner. It is for optimizing purpose. We can use FeedBurner for it. I already experienced that FeedBurner have many good facility that we can use for RSS Feed Optimizing. I use “FD FeedBurner Plugin” WordPress plugin to easily redirect this blog RSS feed to FeedBurner. I already get some benefit from FeedBurner facility regarding to RSS feed optimizing but still need to learn how fully use all of many good facilities of FeedBurner.
