However, I am not giving up Google AdSense for this blogging tips blog yet. I am still trying to do Google AdSense experiment in this blog. If you noticed, I had integrated AdSense for content in below of the blog post back then. That placement give some impact for Google AdSense revenue for this blog. And now, I am trying to do another Google AdSense experiment by using the AdSense for Search feature. It try to integrate the AdSense for Search feature in above of the blog post which shown one search box in home page as well as in single page.

It is needed three easy steps to do add this AdSense For Search in Atahualpa WordPress Blog. Here the complete steps:

Step #1. Create A New Widget Area

I create new widget area in above of the blog post area which shown-up in homepage and in single post. You can see the step-by-step tutorial how to add this needed new widget area in Atahualpa WordPress Theme Configuration Part 6 . Please be aware that we need to remove the if (is_single ())from the code if want to show up the search engine in homepage as well as in single page. Also that, the codes is inserted into the very above of “Content ABOVE the LOOP” box area.

Step #2. Get the Search AdSense Code

• Log into Google AdSense account
• Click “AdSense Setup” tab in above
• Click “AdSense for Search” link
• Fill the information box base on our needs
• Click “Continue” button
• Choose the search box looks
• Fill the characters long for search box
• Click “Continue” button
• Choose the place in where the search result will be shown up
• Choose the position of the search result
• Choose the looks (layout) of the search result
• Click “Continue” button
• Check the additional Terms box
• Fill the Search Box name
• Click “Submit and Get Code” button
• Copy The “Search Box Code” and “Search Result Code”

Step #3. Integrate AdSense for Search into Atahualpa WordPress Blog

• Log into WordPress admin page
• Go to “Appearance” area and click it
• Click “Widgets” link
• Drag “Text” into “Upper Post Widget”
• Paste the “Search Box Code” into it
• Click “Save” button

Final Words

Google AdSense is surely all about experiment. There are no exact strategies that work for each website or blog. It is a must to do our own experiment to find the best Google AdSense strategy for our blog. In this blog post, I share how I integrate the AdSense for Search in this blogging tips blog as part of my Google AdSense experiment and hope that it is useful to give a Google AdSense experiment idea for this blogging tips readers. OK, I cut the crap and let’s add Google AdSense code manually into our blog and earn some good earning.

Step #1. Get Google AdSense Code

Here the Google AdSense code:

I use 336×280 text only here. Form my experience, This large Google AdSense work best if we show it in blog post. As additional, I customize the color so looks blend enough into my blog post area.

Step #2. Additional Code Preparation

Since I want to show this Google AdSense Advertisement inside the blog post ( not in above or in bottom of the blog post), It is needed to add simple code which you can see in below:

Step #3. Combine the Code

I need to combine the code in Step #1 and Step #2 so Google AdSense Advertisement can be showed like what I plan. — inside right of each blog post. The Combination will become like below:

Step #4. Insert The Code into single.php

• Log into WordPress Dashboard
• Go to Appearance area and click it
• Click Editor link
• Click “Single.php” at Theme Files Templates
• Find <div class=”entry”> tag and then Insert code in Step #3 right after it
• Click “Update File” button to apply the Google AdSense Code

The Google AdSense Code insert successfully. You can see the result in picture below:

Final Words

These four steps allow us to show Google AdSense Advertisement inside right of each our blog post. These four steps is not only limited for Clear Type WordPress Theme but also can be applied to each blog as long as there is the single.php or any kind of .php as long as the function is same. With this, we do not need WordPress plugin anymore and it make we able to decrease our blog load and also save our blog resources.

OK, Let’s Add Google AdSense Manually

I decide to only change the adding – from plugin to manual adding – so there is no change in placement for this time. Oh – almost forget to mention, I also want to try new Google AdSense size (336×280 Large Rectangle) as replacement for current 300×250 Medium Rectangle which I put in below title of each article. I also try to blend the Google AdSense in side wide area by change the background color. I easily change the background color trough “Manage Ads” facility of Google AdSense.

Let’s see how this change will perform regarding to my Google AdSense earning. Google AdSense is about trial, trial, and trial, isn’t it?

Prepare the Google AdSense Code

Here the AdSense code for Blog Post:

Before adding the Google AdSense Code manually, I need to disable the “Easy AdSense” WordPress plugin first. I can deactivate it easily trough WordPress plugin feature. OK, now the “Easy AdSense” WordPress plugin is already disable, and we can start to add Google AdSense manually.

Adding Google AdSense for Blog Post

Since I want Google AdSense for blog post is only showed up in single post, I need to add some simple code for it. It will make the code like below:

The code above will make Google AdSense advertisement is only showed in single post (only when readers read the article).

Atahulpa 3.4.5 WordPress theme do not have a “single.php” therefore I should put the code trough “Atahualpa Theme Option (ATO)”.  Here how I do it:

• Go to WordPress Admin Page

• Click “Appearance”

• Click “Atahualpa Theme Option”

• Go to “Center Column” area and click “Style & edit CENTER COLUMN”

• Go to “The LOOP” areaPaste the prepared Google AdSense code right after “<?php bfa_post_byline(‘<div>’,'</div>’); ?>”

• Go to “Post & Pages” and click “Edit POST/PAGE INFO ITEMS”

• Go to “BYLINE:Single Post Pages” and put “</br>” tag in it. This is to give a space between title and the Google AdSense Advertisement.

• Click “Save changes” button to apply the change.

Now, The Google AdSense advertisement will be showed right in below of article’s title each time readers read an article.

Adding Google AdSense for Side Wide

Add Google AdSense in side wide area is far easier than add it in blog post. I only need to drag an text widget and paste the prepared Google AdSense into it. Here how easy I do it:

• Go to WordPress Admin Page
• Click “Appearance”
• Click “Widgets”
• Drag “Text” widget into “Right Inner Sidebar”
• Paste the prepared Google AdSense code into “Text” widget
• Click “Save” button to apply it

Now, The Google AdSense advertisement will be showed in side wide link each time readers in home page area.

Final Words

If available, manual adding is always a better choice when we try to add some new functions in our blog. And that’s what I do in this blog. I add Google AdSense by using manual way instead by using WordPress plugin (Easy AdSense) for it. It is quite easy to show Google AdSense in article and side wide for Atahualpa 3.4.5 WordPress theme. And as usual, I will share my experience so this blog readers can learn from it. And this time – as in title – I will share how currently I do making money blogging – all of my current make money blogging ways excactly.

OK – I cut the crap and start to share my 5 current ways of Make Money Blogging :

#1 Google AdSense

Yeah – I try to make money blogging by put Google AdSense advertising in my blog. In my opinion, Google AdSense is the best way to get passive income from blog — please note that it is for passive income only. We just need to put Google AdSense advertising in our blog and then do our blogging as usual. In my experience, the hard part of Google AdSense is to get our application be approved. And after our Google AdSense application is approved, we directly can put Google AdSense code and make money from it. Of course we need a lot of search engine traffic to get optimum result from Google AdSense – but we surely able to get some buck from it easily by just put it in our blog. For me, I am still waiting my earning reach $100 as payment trigger of Google AdSense. I make around $40 since I put Google AdSense in both of my blog (about 4 month ago).

#2 Text Link Advertising

It is the most easy way to make money blogging in my opinion. Yeah – it is easy so each blogger will be able to make money from this text link advertising. We just need to create a blog and optimize it so have good SERP, PR, and traffic rank. And then – we can offer Text Link Advertising (TLA) service. We can sell Text Link Advertise by our self directly in our blog (create an offer page or post for it). We also can easily sell Text Link Advertising trough webmaster forum such as digital point forum or V7Network forum. If we do not have time to sell text link advertising by our own self, we can always submit our blog to Text Link Advertise (TLA) broker service. We just need to submit our blog with right info and then leave the rest to TLA broker.

I my self use Teliad and LinkWorth as my TLA broker. I make $50 average each month from both of my blog trough TLA – self sell and trough broker. Yeah – it is may be not a big money but it is already enough to cover this blog web hosting cost for two years.

#3 Banner Advertising

Banner advertise should as easy as Text Link Advertising in make money blogging because both of them have same characteristic. It is only needed a good SERP, PR, and traffic rank and we can offer an banner advertising service in our blog. But for me – it seems hard to make money trough Banner Advertising. I never make money trough banner advertising service until now – yeah, it is a zero in banner advertising service from both of my blog. It may be because I still do not optimize this banner advertising service yet so in future I may try to optimize it more except submit my blog into BuySellAds program.

I may advertise an affiliate link trough banner in near future and see how it will be going for a couple of month.

#4 Blog Post Advertising

Blog post advertising become my primary make money blogging income source together with text link advertising. Blog Post Advertising is also known as sponsored review or sponsored post. We are paid to review product or service in our blog post. In my opinion, it is a great way to make money blogging. It is because we can use this review opportunity to create a great useful post for our readers. In short, we can use blog post advertising as source of blog post idea while make money blogging. As text link advertising, we can sell the blog post advertising spot by our self (in our blog or trough forum) or submit our blog to blog post advertising broker.

I use LinkWorth, ReviewMe, SponsoredReview, and BlogsVertise as broker for my blog post advertising service. I make $50 average each month from blog post advertising in both of my blog. Yeah – $50 may be not much but I think  it is good as starting point while our blog still new.

#5 Affiliate

Yup, put an affiliate link is one of my way in make money blogging. Affiliate mean that we will get commission each time people buy product trough our affiliate link. It is quite easy to have an affiliate link. The hard part is how we can make our readers to buy trough our affiliate link. Honestly, I still do not get any selling trough my affiliate link yet even tough I already try optimize it trough blog post (like in this article) and also trough banners. It may because I do not optimize it enough yet or may be my blog traffic still need to improve. Whatever the reason, one thing that I am sure – I must learn how the effective way to market an affiliate trough blog. I hope affiliate marketing can become my great source of make money blogging earning in future.

Blog can become great source of income by monetize it in right way. There are successful bloggers who can make six figures income trough make money blogging – yup trough their blog monetizing activities. Of course, I am still not in that six figures bloggers rank yet but I already make some bucks trough my blogs. That’s the question which I will answer in this blog post. You may already knew how to get Google AdSense code but there are many newbie in blog and Google AdSense do not clear about it yet – yeah, I once of them before. That’s why I write this blog post. I hope it can help the new comer in Google AdSense.

Get Google Adsense Code

• Go to “http://google.com/adsense” and log in with your Google Adsense account.

• Click “AdSense Setup” tab

• Click “AdSense for Content” link

• We can choose to get either Ad unit or Link unit code. I choose Ad unit with text ads only for example in this article.

• Click “Continue” button

• Choose Ads format. There are many formats available. I choose to use 300×250 Medium Rectangle in this article as example.

• Choose Colors. Like Format part, there are also many colors available. I choose to use Default Google palette in this article as example.

• Choose Fonts. Like others configuration, There are also many fonts available. I choose to use default fonts.

• We also can choose corners style of the Ads as optional. I choose to not use it this time.

• Click “Continue” button

• Click “Add new channel” link to add channel for current Ads creating. I use my blog name and URL for it. Channel makes our multiple blog ads can organize and track easily.

• Click “Continue” button

• Choose AdSense unit name. I choose to use default name that provided by Google.

• Click “Submit and Get Code”

• AdSense unit code available. This AdSense code must be inserted to our blog so the google Adsense appears.

As example, you can see how the Google AdSense looks in above first paragraph of this post. I use Easy Adsense WordPress plugin to show Google AdSense Code in this blog.

Conclusions

Google AdSense is great tools to have passive income from our blog. We need to put Ads code in our blog so Google AdSense appears. Sometimes, getting Google AdSense code can confuse if we really new in this thing so here I write how to get it. So you will think that It is quite easy to get Ads Code from Google AdSense. Yeah, I am having Google Adsense account now. Many thanks’ to Jeandsen that help me to have it. Jeandsen give a great tip that make Google finally accept my Google Adsense application after 8 month in struggling for it. I was already thinking that Google really have built in habit that rejected my each application. I apply four times in eight months and all rejected without any hesitation by Google. Fortunately, all of that already become past story for now because my Google Adsense application is already accepted. It is accepted for almost a month ago. Yeah, I do not put it in this online knowledge blog directly after it is accepted.

It took one weeks for Google Adsense appearancing in this blog because I want to learn first about where the best way to place Google Adsense in this blog. And now, after do some research, I decide that only place Google Adsense advertisement inside the post only – exactly, place the text only Google Adsense Ad Unit in first paragraph of each post. I think it is already enough to have good earning from Google Adsense advertisement without overwhelming this blog with ads. After decide to put Google Adsense in first paragraph of each post, I directly search how to do it. I do search in internet and found many ways to do it. Google Adsense placement can do in two ways which are manually manipulate blog theme code.

Put Google Adsense Easily with “Easy AdSense”

As you already aware that I really have lack knowledge in PHP and CSS which is a programming code that use by Atahualpa 3.4.4 WordPress theme which is used by this blog as theme. Therefore, I want to use WordPress plugin that allow me to easily put Google Adsense in first paragraph of each post without theme code manipulation. I found that “Easy AdSense” WordPress plugin is working perfectly with Atahualpa WordPress theme. “Easy Adsense” WordPress plugin allow me to easily show Google Adsense advertisement in first paragraph of each post without code programming.

Install “Easy AdSense” WordPress Plugin

Go to “Site Admin” page

Click “Plugin” tab

Click “Add New” button

Insert “Easy Adsense” in search box

Click “Search Plugins” button

Click “Install” button in “Easy Adsense”

Click “Install Now” button

Click “Activate Plugin” button

Setting “Easy AdSense” WordPress Plugin

Still in “Site Admin” page

Click “Settings”

Click “Easy Adsense”

Delete all default Google Adsense code

Click “Save Changes”

Copy paste Adsense code from Google Adsense to “Lead-in AdSense Text”

Check the “Pages (Ads only in Posts)” and “Home Page” in “Suppress AdSense Ad Blocks on:” part to suppress AdSense appears in home and page.

Click “Save Changes” button

Note: it is needed time for Google Adsense advertisement appearing if use this plugin, be patient.

Conclusion

The placement is really important part in Google Adsense. The right placement can boost our earning. That’s why we should choose carefully how to show Google Adsense in our blog. There are many ways to place Google Adsense in our blog. We can place it in post, widget, header or footer. We can do Google Adsense advertisement placement by two ways which are manually manipulate blog theme code or by use WordPress plugin.

There are many Google Adsense WordPress plugin that allow us to easily place Google Adsense advertisement anywhere in our blog.
