It allows us to have accurate build in statistic that access trough admin dashboard. Of course, I want to have this dashboard accurate statistic in my current Wordpress.org blog. And I immediately can have it because Wordpress already create Wordpress.org plugin to allow Wordpress.com statistic in Wordpress.org blog. Yes, Wordpress.org users can have accurate dashboard statistic as same as Wordpress.com does.
It is possible by using “WordPress.com Stats” plugin. This plugin is created by Creator Company of Wordpress itself, the Automatic. This plugin is really trustworthy because it is created by Automatic (Wordpress creator) which really understands Wordpress. And, I know that the statistic report is very important for me as Webmasters. Webmasters always depend on statistic to know how the site in internet. It is because the statistic can tell everything about the site. It tells what webmasters must improve, what are the strength of the site, and others useful information that need for site perfection.
Therefore, I need to install “Wordpress.com Stats” in this online knowledge blog as dashboard statistic provider. The “Wordpress.com Stats” plugin installation is quite simple. There is no different from others Wordpress.org plugin installation. We must login to “Site Admin” page before start the installation. After login, Go to “Plugin” tab, and then click “Add new” button. The search box will appear. Insert “Wordpress.com Stats” as keyword in search box and then click “Search Plugin” button.
The “Wordpress.com Stats” plugin appears, and then click “Install” button on it. The Installation page appears, and then click “Install Now” button. Success installation page appear, and then click “Activate plugin” button. Go to “Plugin” tab, and then click “Wordpress.com Stats” button. The Wordpress.com API request appears, and then inserts the API key if already have it. Click “Get Your Key Here” link if do not have API key yet. Insert the API key which gets from Wordpress.com profile, and then click “Save” button. Click “Add to Wordpress.com account” button to associate it with the API key.
The “Wordpress.com Stats” plugin already successfully installed. Visit the “Dashboard” tab and then click “Blog Stats” button to show the statistic. The statistics page of the blog appears. If it does not appear yet, just wait. It need time to collect the blog statistic, be patient! And please note that “Wordpress.com Stats” plugin process the statistic in Wordpress.com server so it does not load our hosting server. What a great statistic provider. You’re right that Google Analytics is a much more powerful traffic tracking tool, but it doesn’t track in real time. One of the nicest features of the WP-Stats is that it gives you your real time traffic stats. Wp-stats is shockingly accurate too; usually within 5% of Google’s number.
