As we know that Google is the biggest search engine player this day. I once know that Google search send 80% of total traffic for some famous blog. That’s why optimize blog regarding to Google search engine is mandatory. I install “Google XML Sitemaps” wordpress plugin for Google Sitemap optimizing sake. Google Sitemap is a Google service that allows webmasters to submit and get fastest index of desire URLs that included in Google search. It can tell that Google sitemap help Google to get more complete information of the blog/site.
I choose to install “Google XML Sitemaps” WordPress plugin as Google sitemap optimizing tool because this wordpress plugin is powerful enough to fulfill my needs.
Here my way to install “Google XML Sitemaps“:
- Go to WordPress “Site Admin” page
- Go to “Plugin” tab and click it
- Click “Add new” button
- Insert “Google XML Sitemaps” in search form
- Click “Search Plugin” button
- The “Google XML Sitemaps” plugin appears
- Click “Install” button
- Click “Install Now” button
- Click “Activate” button for “Google XML Sitemaps” plugin activation
- Go to “Plugin” tab and click it
- Locate “Google XML Sitemaps” and click “Settings” button
- Build the sitemap by click at “Click here” link. It seemsneed time for sitemap building, just patiently wait.
- Ok, “Google XML Sitemaps” plugin already working normally.
- I leave default setting for my blog, but we always can customize it by click “Settings” button.
- Then log in to google webmaster service
- Choose the domain that we want to submit
- Click “Sitemap Configuration” tab, and then click “Sitemaps” button
- Click “Submit a Sitemaps” button
- Fill the sitemap address, i fill with letupdate.com/sitemap.xml as my sitemap xml address
- Click “Submit Sitemap” button
- Voila! The sitemap installation is finish.
“Google XML Sitemaps” plugin will create a Google sitemaps compliant XML-Sitemap of WordPress blog. It supports all of the WordPress generated pages as well as custom ones. All the edit or create a post activity make sitemap updated and all major search engines that support the sitemap protocol, like ASK.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO, are notified about the update.

Is a great plugin for creating the sitemap, but I found it little tricky to install.
I think it is easy to install.
Google XML sitemaps by Arne Brachhold is for me the best sitemap generator for WP hands down. I have used a few sitemap alternatives for wordpress but none are as easy to use, stylish and well supported as this plugin. A must for every WP website out there.

base on my experience, it depend the plugin and i also try to keep active plugin below 20.

This is one of the essential plugins that I install on every site and blog that I set up. It helps tremendously and only takes a few minutes to get up and running.

I think sitemap create automatically because it work even i never create sitemap manually. But, I may use sitemap generator to optimize my sitemap.
A must have plugin for all wordpress blogger. You need to create a sitemap manually before installing this plugin. There are few more plugin that will generate site map based on your tags.

Google XML Sitemap is a must have for every serious blogger. I am still in the learning phase of the whole Google Webmaster tools. I did find out that my site had some crawl errors though. Thanks for the info.
