It is easy to uninstall your WordPress blog automatically if you use automatic installation software such as Fantastisco when you install it in first place. You need to only do click uninstall facility of Fantastisco to uninstall your WordPress blog completely in proper way. But – if you are in condition that must uninstall your WordPress blog manually, you may be find as hard task. But do not worry because I share how you can uninstall WordPress Blog manually in this article. I use my sub domain as example in this article– but it is surely can also apply when you want to uninstall the domain it self. It should go trough the same process if there are no unusual configuration.
OK, let’s uninstall our WordPress Blog manually in just two steps:
Step #1 Remove the file
I remove sub-domain file by deleting it trough FTP client. I use FileZilla as one of great free FTP client for it so I can easily do this step.
Step #2 Remove The Database
This is the most important part in WordPress Blog manual uninstalling so can get the clean uninstalling result. OK, let’s do this step. I remove all data base that related with sub domain trough Cpanel. I use MySQL Databases Features that available in my Cpanel (thanks to HostGator to uninstall the database easily.
Just click the icon and it will bring to my WordPress database. The next step is that I only need to delete sub-domain database which I want to remove. If i do not know the exact database, I always can check it trough phpMyAdmin which also available in my Cpanel. Since I remember the database name, I just delete it without need to check it trough phpMyAdmin.
The confirmation page will pop up. Just click “yes” to completely remove the database.
And I also delete the user for the database.
The confirmation page will pop up. Just click “yes” to completely remove the database’s user.
It’s A Rub!
Yup, It is a rub! The manual uninstalling process of a WordPress Blog is complete. Now, I can use the sub domain freely for other usage. I can install a new fresh WordPress platform on it or also can install another platform such as joomla if I need new venture. In short, the sub domain (or domain) already free to use for whatever that needed.

nice info…thanks Danna for giving that information, its really useful for me…
how do i uninstall word press if i didn’t go through fantastisco? here’s the thing…. i installed word press without going through the c-panel in brain host. i installed it by it self now when i signed into my c-panel it won’t let me install word press through that because it’s already installed on my computer. do you have any soulations on what to do ?
thank you
deanne
I think you can just delete the whole WordPress files via FTP and then delete the database via Cpanel (any database application in it) or via the installed mysql app in your PC.
Hi Dana,
Just wanted to tell you that it took me around half an hour to figure out how to drop a damn database in cPanel LOL until I found your post of course!
