Social bookmarking is one of the methods which have taken the Internet world by storm. In a system for this method of bookmarking, users can save links to websites or other online resources on a website which provides the service. These bookmarks are usually public, though some might offer options to share the bookmarks you save only to a certain group of contacts you have, or to specific persons only. Once you have saved the bookmarks, you can start tagging.
Tagging refers to giving keywords to the bookmarks you save so that others would have an idea what the bookmarked website is all about. Tagging also helps in searches, so that the bookmarks you save will be included in the search results. For example, a website about the history of your university could be tagged with the name of your university and the year it was established. Tagging doesn’t follow a specific set of guidelines- which is both a good thing and a bad thing. Users have the liberty to tag bookmarks as they see fit, but sometimes these tags are confusing in character.
This method of bookmarking is easy to use and understand. It is advisable for everyone to at least try it out – give others an easier time, and you’d get that as well.

which i know that social bookmarking is the way to share, organize, search, and manage bookmarks of web resources. is it same with file sharing ?
Bookmarks here mean you bookmark some web content and share it trough internet. As example, You may bookmark this article by use digg and it mean that you share this article with digg users and in long term, for all internet users because digg is indexed by search engine.
Social Bookmarking is something which I take care of very well.

By far the most useful and best bookmarking site is Delicious. It may not bring you a huge amount of traffic (although it can as well) the fact that you can add all your bookmarks and add them from any computer anywhere in the world is incredibly powerful. In my experience the best one for actually driving traffic to your bog is Stumbleupon by a long shot. It takes some work but if you do it correctly it can bring in as much as 100k visitors a month

I love using Stumbleupon, Digg and Reddit! Stumbleupon and Digg work good but Reddit gives you great amount of traffic!
Also Dana, I think you have changed your blog colours, have you? Its looking good but a little dark! Please make the sidebar widget colour from dark orange to something little lighter or try using maroon or reddish or brown colour. They look good!

I love blogengage rather than stumble,digg or techorati. I don’t use reddit. But stumble give me more traffic to one of my post.
I do not yet try blog engage but i already heard many good word about it.
I actually get more traffic from SU than all other social bookmarking sites combined.
However, after direct and organic search, Twitter is actually sends me the most visitors.
But, how is about quality of it SU traffic?
i use both twitter and stumbleupon… I get more traffic from these social bookmarking sites. Apart from this i also promote in facebook, friendfeed..

I submit to StumbleUpon, Delicious, and Mixx; however, I don’t use any of them for my personal viewing. I do see a decent amount of traffic from SU, but the bounce rate is through the roof.
So, the quality of traffic seems low.

Recently stumble gave a lots of traffic… it seems to be that if you get one or two likes in stumble, it can drive a-lot of traffic to your site! and Dzone is also one of my favourites! if you can make a good submission to Dzone… you can earn a-lot of traffic
