Eight Free Software For Better Blogging Life

We as blogger surely needs some software to support our blogging activities. In fact, we may have our own favorite software for our blogging activities such as for writing, picture editing, post a blog post, internet browsing. And I am not an exception — I have my own favorite software for blogging tool which I will share trough this article. I hope it can give idea for new bloggers to prepare software as tool for blogging and make easier their blogging life. And guess what? Yes, all of these blogging toll software which I use in this blogging tips blog are free software. Therefore I think it is even better for new blogger because they do not need to spend any money to get this software.

#1 IrfanView

I use IrvanView to do simple picture creation and editing for my blog post and to re-size the picture size. I also use it to convert each picture to .png as it is said that .png is SEO friendly picture format. IrvanView is really perfect for simple picture work such as re-size layout and size, picture format conversion, and simple picture creation. It is because IrvanView is a simple software which required little resources of our PC/Laptop and it is easy to use. All the tools is really easy to use – I think it even can use by first time users.

#2 GIMP

I use GIMP to do more complex picture creation and editing. If you already familiar with Photoshop, GIMP is free version of it. GIMP will work perfectly for advance picture creation and editing such as give more complex manipulation, create a blog logo, and for blog design work. GIMP is a bit more complex to use if compare with IrvanView. You will need to learn how to use GIMP before get benefit from it. That’s why I suggest blogger to also have IrvanView in their blogging tool list even tough they already install GIMP in their PC/Laptop.

#3 Live Window Writer

I use Live Window Writer to perfect an blog post in environment that similar with my blog. Live Window Writer allows us as blogger to create a blog post in our PC/laptop like create it in our blog it self. It will help us to perfect the blog post base on our blog environment before publish it. And Live Window Writer also allows us to publish the blog post directly trough it so we no need to access our WordPress dashboard when want to publish a blog post. It can be said that Live Window Writer allows us to blog directly from our PC/Laptop.

#4 Open Office

Not like Live Window Writer which I use to perfect my blog post in blog environment and then to publish it into my blog, I use Open Office to create blog post from really basic until become an article. Open Office is a free version of Microsoft Office software. All the Microsoft Software application is available in this Open Office software. Open Office help me to article creation (as I already mentioned before), to backup all of my blog post, to record my make money blogging transaction, and to record my guest posting activities. And for new bloggers, I suggest to use Open Office because it is easy to be used. Like IrvanView, Open Office also can be used easily by first time users.

#5 Mozilla Firefox

A web browser is a must for blogger. Web browser is used to connect with internet which is the real working environment for blogger. A great web browser will be really helpful to handle our blogging in right way. And I use Mozilla Firefox as web browser for my blogging activities. Mozilla Firefox with all of great plugin available is really a great tool for blogging internet environment. Beside Mozilla Firefox is a great tool to browse trough internet, there are also many plugin which will be a big help for bloggers such as SEO Quake, No/Do Follow, Read it later, and others plugin that a really big help for blogging.

#6 Mozilla Thunderbird

As I said in contact form creation, Email is one of important part in blogging in my opinion. Email make us to be reachable for each of our blog readers and also for our potential service buyer. An email from our blog readers may give many benefit to us such as blog improvement, blog post idea, a conversation, and many more. Potential service buyers also can easily reach us so we will not miss any good opportunities to make money blogging. And Mozilla Thunderbird work great as email client for us as blogger. Mozilla Thunderbird deliver our email directly into our PC/Laptop in great way. Mozilla Thunderbird allows to connect directly to our email service (which usually provide by our web hosting provider) easily in secure way.

FileZilla client is a great tools to do FTP connection. FileZilla client is a great FTP client which allow us to do FTP connection in easy and great way. We can use FileZilla to serve secure FTP connection directly to our blog file in our web hosting server. I use FileZilla to edit my blog file, to backup my blog configuration, and to upload blog additional file which is really important part to create a better blogging in my opinion. It can be said that FileZilla as great FTP client is a really big help for bloggers.

I use Xenu’s Link Sleuth as my blogging SEO tool – to find a broken link exactly. As you know, search engine (especially Google Search Engine) really hate a broken link. Our blog search engine rank surely will be decreased if there are many broken link in it. Therefore, Xenu is really a big help for us as blogger which have big dependencies to search engine as our traffic source. Broken Link finder is the main and basic function of Xenu but Xenu is not only about that. We can use Xenu to others function such as site map creation, find images missing alt text, find 302 redirect link, and many other SEO work. It is can be said that Xenu is a blogger friend for blogging’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
