Another benefit to have our own domain email account is that we have full control to it. We can do whatever we want to do about our email account. And for your information, create an email account is quite easy trough our web hosting Cpanel.
Here I share how to create email account trough web hosting Cpanel:
Cpanel Email Account Creation
- Login to Cpanel
- Go to Mail Part and click “Email Accounts” icon
![]()
- Fill email name, password, and then click “Create” button

- Click “Yes” button to allow email accessing trough mail client

- And then choose the best way to configure yourPC/Laptop email client. As example I choose to use manual way to configure my email client which work best for me.

Note: Usually SLL Mail Server address info in manual is wrong, so you should ask your web hosting provider the rights SLL Mail Server address. As example, HostGator actually SLL Mail Server address is secure1103.hostgator.com.

Cool tips, very helpful for newbies to the cpanel. I too use cpanel for my mails. i use RoundCube, it has a cool interface
I just here about roundcube. It seems great tools.
Thanks for the great tutorial bro… i have never used cpanel to make my email… i used google apps, but they have some limits!
The think use doman name email is professionalism.
I use yahoo mail and gmail coz all of my readers are familiar with the email.
Yeah — yahoomail and gmail is enough for readers but for business i think we need domain name email. I ever heard that some affiliate service only accept if we subscribe use our domain name email.
Agree with you! For business sites or for websites, its good! If we have personal accounts, then GMail is very good….
Yes, it is. domain email give professional sense which is good for business.
i’ve used yahoo.mail
yahoomail is good email service indeed. I also use it.
I have MANY websites, and I have just recently forwarded all of them to my main email account.
Gmail itself has a pretty decent spam filter that works for all emails.
It also allows you to send emails inside gmail, with your own email address as the sender. (Meaning you can completely disguise that it’s a gmail if you want)
It’s really simple actually. Just go to your cpanel (I use hostgator too), choose “Forwarders” under the email settings, and choose which email shall be forwarded to what.
Then go to settings in gmail, then choose accounts, and add the emails you want to use with it.
A VERY useful tool I wish I had thought about earlier.

Yeah — i surely will think of this technique if i face many spam problem but for now, it is enough by just use hostgator email service.
for now i reluctant to use domain name as email as what happen to me before when i no longer want to use the domain but some service still store that particular email and result in i get nothing from them, so for same i use my gmail and ymail for all purposes..
Surely, that should be considered when make choice about email but i think “info@domainname” is needed to make we look professional.
Is there any way to change the expiry period ., I have not been active in some email ids for a month and now all emails sent to that id bounces back. Only when i login to that account, it gets active
I do not know but you can try to re-create the account (deleted and create it again.)
I use Google Apps instead, free and stable
I use both. Gmail for non formal email, and @letupdate.com for formal specifically to letupdate email.
Dana,
I am using HostGator for my hosting service too. Have you found anything available as part of the hosting for spam protection? My domain name email addresses are filled with spam email daily.
Brad
The hostgator it self already have spam assassin on it. It is not active in default, but you can activate it trough cpanel. I may write about it when i’ve time.
