Explore Connecticut on the Longest Trails

Hikers here have lots of space to explore. If you consider yourself to be such a tourist, you should go to the west of Connecticut. Along the border with the neighboring state of New York there is the Taconic mountain range, part of the Appalachian Mountains. There is the highest peak - Mount Bear with height of 708 meters. That is the place of the most popular destination in the United States for hiking – “Appalachian Trail”. It starts in Georgia and runs through the states of North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut. Another tourist route runs along a rocky ridge Metacomet, it crosses the valley of the Connecticut River. The maximum height is 312 meters above sea level.

Supporters of a relaxing holiday should go to the south of the state. Along the Coast of Long Island Gulf there is a stretch of 350 km perfect sandy beaches; for tourists with children - the best.
