AHA Mobile BroadBand Service Speed Test

Finally, I able to try AHA Mobile BroadBand service from Bakrie Connectivity. In case you do not know yet, AHA (Affordable High-speed Access) is a mobile internet service that use EVDO Rev A technology which offer up to 3.1 Mb/s of access speed. This time, I will share how my experience when try AHA Mobile BroadBand service which offer free internet access for first 50 days for maximum speed, up to 3.1 Mb/s. It mean I try it for free since it is still in first 50 days duration.

It is quite easy to use this AHA Mobile Internet Broadband service. Just need to plug the Olive Modem and the installation will run automatically. After the installation is finish, the users able to use it directly. For access, users should use aha@aha.co.id as username and aha as password. OK, let’s go further. For this test, I use “Fantastis” package which offer up to 3.1 Mbps of access speed. Therefore I want to see the actual speed. Do I really get the 3.1 Mbps speed? I check it by using speedtest.net which offer local speed test so the test is reasonable enough without depend to international internet bandwidth. As web browser, I use Mozilla Firefox. Here the speed result:

AHA Speed Test

The speed get 3.4 out of 5 star with 1.7 Mbps of download speed and 1.09 Mbps as upload speed. The speed is reasonable speed even though I do not get the maximum 3.1 Mbps speed. Indeed, it is hard to get maximum 3.1 Mbps speed because it is dependent on how many users that use the same BTS (Base Transceiver Station) with me in same time. In theory, I will only get the maximum 3.1 Mbps speed if I am the only one which use the BTS. Therefore, it is quite reasonable that I get 1.7 Mbps as speed. However, it would be great if Bakrie Connectivity able to provide more speed such as 2.5 Mbps for example.

For me, this speed is enough for now. In fact, I never enjoy such speed for my internet connection. Usually my best internet speed is only 15 kbps so you should know how happy I am now. Finally, I able to try high-speed internet for my blogging journey. I able to match my internet speed with my fellow bloggers which in developed countries now which allows us to speak the same “language” about blog load speed now.
